Well, although I am shocked to have a new year upon us, I am welcoming it with great joy. Most people cling to January 1st as their starting point for all the new years resolutions that they have promised themselves they will accomplish this year. I don’t feel the need to grip onto the date but it is nice to make some plans for the upcoming year that I’ll slowly put into place during the first week of January or so. This year is all about habits, creating better ones, and becoming the God-fearing woman I yearn to be. My most important goal is to continue to develop my relationship with God, I want to bear much more fruit and follow in the past that He has beautifully designed for my life. My fitness goal is to run a half-marathon (21km), and maintain a vegan diet. Education wise I am looking to maintain a 4.0 GPA for this semester. In life, I want to grow as a person, take bigger risks, challenge myself in every facet of life, and develop other areas that I haven’t due to bad habits like FB, and endless TV shows.
So with all these goals in place, I started my day at noon, a good time, right? Clearly missing my first morning workout I proceeded to spend time with God. What a blessing that was. If you don’t have time for anything else in your day, spend time with God, dedicate your day to do His will. I read today that Christ ask us to pray in his name. However, that does not require us to end every pray with “in Jesus’ name”. John 15:7 says “If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.” This is a promise to us, but what does it require for us to do? We must have faith that our prayers will be answered, patience to wait upon the Lord and His perfect timing in answering these prayers, obedience and surrender of character that as Christ abides in us our characters will be changed so that our prayer reflect His will.Wow. Needless to say, it was a great time spent with my Lord. It was a refreshing time too as my mind has been clustered with thoughts regarding men and potential suitors. In the last few weeks I have found myself daydreaming boy-crazy thoughts that doing anything else. As women, many of us face this problem, but I decided to give God the reigns since I know that He already has a man for me. He’s just preparing me to a loving relationship when He sees fit.
Once I emerged from my devotions I decided to get a little crafty and made a “scarf” of sorts out of an old t-shirt by brother was throwing out. I love it, and it was super easy to make. Here’s the link http://www.ettestudios.com/2011/03/diy-recycled-tshirt-scarf-roundup.html. With the extra strands I made a braided headband that I can wear to the gym.
For now, set goals, make plans, dream big, and never forget God created you for a purpose, He gave you gifts that you might you them according to His will. He’s just waiting to you to let Him lead that you may have the most amazing life beyond your wildest dreams!
